His Vision, Our Future...
Dear Community, Family and Friends,
Treasure Chest Learning Academy was established in November 2012. Since 2013 I have been searching for the perfect location for a property that allows adequate space for Treasure Chest Learning Academy . Throughout my searches I have come across beautiful properties and others that need tender love and care in a safe area and has much more space than my house. There have been numerous circumstances with these properties that create an issue when purchasing. I have heard so many different situations many would have given up by now in the search or career. However, my name means bold and courageous. I walk in that boldness day by day. I know this center is what God has purposed me to do. there are so many stories from the parents that have had students to attend the school that are a testimony of my purpose in this business and vision to educate students near and far. Parents have come over an hour away to allow their child to be educated in this facility. The obstacles of purchasing a property are great, but I have to meet them head on when I know this school, this curriculum, this drive and passion form God changes the lives and foundation of the children I am servicing. Many times to have a facility that meets every aspect of a quality education essential to my students' development has a down payment that is larger than what my budget can afford. This is an average of $20,000 - $40,000 down payment. For me that is a lot of money, because I used my retirement to start this school. I stepped out on the faith that God would bless me with whatever I needed to do what He has called me to do. I am asking for support and assistance in the purchase of a building for T.C.L.A. I am sure that I can raise this amount of money through fundraisers and the donations of family, friends, and even strangers. I know this can happen because God has given me the vision and put the burning desire and passion to witness to others through the gift of teaching. Every little bit will help and every great amount will help even more. Below is a link for your much appreciated donation. Thank you so much for sowing your seed!
The name Treasure Chest Learning Academy, is adapted from the scripture Matthew 6:21 which says, “for where your treasure is there your heart will be also”. I treasure educating children by putting my time, energy, and money back into their cognitive development. I have always felt the need to reach out to children and help them be all that they are capable of being and do all that they are capable of doing. This is why I started T.C.L.A. It was started in my home, where it was most affordable at the time. However, my calling and gift of teaching is not limited to the twelve 1-10 year old children that I currently work with. I believe that God has purposed me to reach more children and more families to help instill a strong educational foundation. That foundation will support intellectual cognition and positive growth for the future. Through God's help, I can honestly affirm that not one of my pupils left my instruction without any progress or academic advancement. My students are able to grow in a comfortable and encouraging environment. I challenge them at their own academic level and expect individualized greatness from them. Thus, they are able to improve in areas that surprise even their parents. I even assign activities for parents to complete with their child. Together we help their little boy or girl reach educational success!
As you may know, the number of students who perform on grade level in the public school system has decreased. Many of the today’s youth reach age 21 without a high school diploma and others without even a G.E.D. By the time some children reach third grade they have not developed a love for learning and have yet to acquire basic reading and arithmetic skills. As a result, some teachers will promote students who have not mastered these academic standards knowing that the student is incapable of performing at the appropriate level. This sets the child up for future challenges in life due to a lack of a strong educational foundation.
The solution to the problem is to educate our children at a young age. If we train up a child in the way he should go, then when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). This is not simply the responsibility of parents or teachers, but the collective responsibility of parents, teachers, and the community. Again, thank you so much for believing that every child deserves a proper start and adequate space to grow and learn. Your donation means so much!
Sincerely,
Traci Johnson, C.D.
